Waterloo Plumbing Co. is a booking line. It is not a plumbing company with a fleet of trucks, and it is not a directory that sells your phone number to a list of contractors who will all call you. It connects to one local plumber, licensed in Ontario, who works across the city — uptown and Mary-Allen, the student district around the University of Waterloo and Laurier, Lakeshore, Beechwood and Westmount, Laurelwood, Columbia Forest and Vista Hills — plus Conestogo, St. Jacobs, Elmira and the Kitchener side of the line.

Plumbing is a trade where the customer usually cannot see the problem, is often standing in water, and has to trust what they are told. That attracts a particular kind of selling: a low visit rate that turns into a large bill, a whole re-pipe recommended where a fitting would do, a water heater sold on the size of the sale rather than the size of the household, and a softener installed with the drain in the wrong place. Anyone in Waterloo who has called a plumber off the first search result has met at least one of those.

The point of this site is a straight line to a plumber who looks first, explains what is wrong in plain words, gives a written price before the work, tells you when a repair can wait for a cheaper regular-hours slot, and says plainly when the job belongs to a different trade.

What we will not do: publish reviews we do not have, invent a rating or a star count, quote a fixed price on a website for work nobody has seen, claim a brand certification, or sell your phone number. This site is new. It says what it can do and nothing more.

What the plumber handles

• Emergency repairs: burst and frozen pipes, failed valves, leaking heaters, sewer backups
• Drain and sewer cleaning, camera inspection, backwater valves
• Water heaters and tankless: replacement, installation, descaling, expansion tanks
• Water softeners and filtration for hard municipal water, and iron filters, pressure tanks and treatment for private wells in Woolwich
• Rental-property plumbing: student houses near the universities, turnover inspections, standing arrangements for multi-house landlords

What it does not handle

Water coming through the foundation, up through a floor crack or at the footing is basement waterproofing, a different trade with different equipment; a plumber can rule the pipes in or out and will say which one you have. Structural foundation work is different again. Commercial fit-outs — restaurants, offices, industrial units — are outside the scope of this site. Gas line work and the gas side of any appliance is done only by a technician certified by the TSSA. Trade licensing is through Skilled Trades Ontario, plumbing permits through the City of Waterloo or the township, municipal water and sewer through the Region of Waterloo, and workplace coverage through WSIB. You will be told when a job belongs to someone else rather than sold something that will not fix it.

How this works

When you call 226-455-8962 or send the form, your details go straight to the plumber. For an emergency, you get told what to shut off and when someone will be there. For anything else, a visit is arranged, the problem is found, and the price is given in writing before the work starts. The work is done under the plumber's own Ontario licence, insurance and WSIB coverage. Your information is not sold, not shared with a list of competing companies, and there is no markup added to your bill for the introduction.

What we won't do

• Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
• Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
• Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
